Help Spread the Word About 211 — Orange County’s Essential Community Resource!
Are you passionate about community connection and helping others find support? Join us as a 211 Outreach Ambassador and be the voice of 2-1-1 Orange County (211OC) at local tabling events like resource fairs and community gatherings!
What is 211OC? 211OC is a vital community service that connects Orange County residents to thousands of local health and human services — from food and housing assistance to healthcare, crisis support, senior services, and more. With one simple call (dial 2-1-1), text, or online search, people can reach trained specialists who link them to the help they need — free, confidential, and available in many languages.
As an Outreach Ambassador, you will:
- Staff information tables at community events and resource fairs
- Share information about 211OC’s services with event attendees
- Talk with community members about how 211 can help them or someone they know
- Distribute materials and answer basic questions about accessing services
Why It Matters
These events are essential to raising awareness of a service that literally connects neighbors with lifesaving resources and links people to help when they’re unsure where to turn. Your presence and enthusiasm help people know that help is just a call or text away.
How to get Started
- Sign Up: Click the “Register for the Opportunity” button on this page to register your interest.
- Orientation: After signing up, a 211OC staff member will contact you for a 20-minute Zoom orientation to introduce you to the basics of 211’s work and how to represent it at events.
- Training & Pairing: Once oriented, you’ll be able to sign up for specific events. You’ll be paired with a 211 staff member for support and guidance at the events.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds who are enthusiastic about community service, enjoy talking with people, and want to make a meaningful impact in Orange County. No prior experience with social services is required — just a willingness to learn and serve!
